5 1/2 hours later, finished. The chalk art street festival is only for a limited time. This is what I came up with on the fly. Unluckily I had no reference. The original idea wouldn't fit the area I was given.
Random Viking Dude chalk art by ~JCSArtCan
Street art that is truly 'on the street'. Much attention for street art gets directed at work depicted purely with spraycans. The attention to detail in what is after a very short lived piece as a chalk drawing, reminds us that there is still a lot of fantastic work out there that does not always fit the typical 'street art' box. Thanks everyone for your comments. I wish I did have some sort of reference for the art. Based on what I did for last year, I had a layout that was more vertical. I would not work for this area. The chest area is way to big and doesn't wrap around the ribcage correctly. I was mainly playing with the chalk drawing techniques I found online. Chalk drawing techniques are very difficult to find. My favorite was a sponge brush with water. It really helped with the blending, and more solid color. I was appreciative of the photographer giving me the photo file. The picture I took had sun and shadow over the art, and made it look funny. I should of took another photo, so it isn't so distorted, and more straight on. Perspective is a #$%^& deepening on where your standing. Thanks again for the comments everyone. Both the positive, the helpful, and the negative. Every comment helps one grow as an artist. I am planning on practicing more before the event next year. I will post those images also.
I dont mean to sound mean or offensive, but this is really quite bad and I am honestly annoyed that it has received Daily Deviation. Alas, this is what deviantart has become. A+ on anatomy A+ on color work and F on originality
